Beyond Singing

As part of a portfolio career, Richard enjoys working in schools and the wider community to inspire others through making music. He is currently Head Of Choral Music at Shrewsbury School, where he runs a Chapel Choir, Chamber Choir, Barbershop, Junior Choir, and a vocal octet of elite singers called ‘Octo Cantores’.

Conducting

Richard conducts many youth ensembles and amateur choirs in the Shrewsbury area.

Educational PROJECTS

Richard leads primary and secondary school educational projects for Leeds Lieder and Handel House.

Singing Teaching

Richard worked as a singing teacher at Wellington College and organised the scholarship programme and conducted all the ensembles for the respected music department at Farnborough Sixth Form College.

campaigning

Richard spearheaded the campaign to Save the National Musicians’ Church from shutting its doors to musicians, gathering much press and social media attention. Consequently, he has helped create a new hub for church based rehearsal venues which can be found at www.musicianschurch.org
